PLPD Coverage: The Bottom Line
If you’re in the market for full coverage insurance, a case could be made that it’s worth it to pay a little extra for quality coverage. The car insurance quotes, important as they are, aren’t the only thing you should take into consideration. After all, your car insurance is expected to pay off if:
- Your car is stolen.
- Your car is damaged.
You expect your insurance company to be there for you when you need it. Frankly, some companies are better about it than others. A little research will generally tell you a lot about the company you are working with. Simply type in the name of your insurance company and “reviews” into a web browser, and you’re likely to find all kinds of reviews of your company: the good, the bad, and the ugly. There’s no need to look up any kind of formal ratings; you can see what real life customers have to say about the company.
If, however, you’re one of the many who are simply looking for PLPD coverage-just enough to make you street legal- then it probably doesn’t matter much to you which company you purchase your insurance through. Your insurance company isn’t going to replace your car if it’s wrecked or stolen anyway, they’re only covering your liability.
So, if you’re a PLPD insurance customer, you want to look for the companies with the absolute lowest car insurance quotes. After all, you’re dealing with a fairly simple transaction: You pay your premiums and they cover you against liability so that you can legally drive.
That’s not to say that service isn’t important. We all want to do business with a company who treats us right and makes us feel comfortable. You shouldn’t accept poor treatment from anyone you’re handing your money to, and car insurance companies are no exception.
With that said, however, the bottom line is that the reason you buy PLPD insurance is to avoid spending more money than you have to insuring a car that isn’t really worth a whole lot. So, it’s almost always in your best interest to shop around and find the lowest price available.
