Accident Forgiveness

Accident forgiveness prevents your premium from increasing for your first accident. This benefit is standard with your policy at no extra charge. Accident forgiveness terms vary by state, and are not available for California and North Carolina drivers.

Accident Prevention/Driver’s Education Discounts

Completing a state-approved driver’s education course may provide discounts to car insurance holders with Liberty Mutual, depending on the state of certification.

Affinity Discounts

Liberty Mutual provides an affinity insurance discount. An employee of a company that is a member of Liberty Mutual’s affinity program is eligible for these discounts. Credit union, alumni association, and other group members may also be eligible for affinity discounts. Check with Liberty Mutual or your company to see if you qualify. Affinity discounts are not available in Texas; Texas residents should ask for a Liberty Mutual agent about Liberty Mutual Advantage, which is a program that provides Texas Public Employees Association (TPEA) members with competitive rates on auto and home insurance, according to the TPEA website.

Gap Coverage

In the event of a total loss, if you had previously purchased a gap endorsement, the difference between the market value of your car and your loan value would be covered through gap coverage from Liberty Mutual. Gap coverage may require collision or comprehensive coverage. Check with your Liberty Mutual insurance agent to see if you qualify for gap insurance in your state.

Mobile Apps

Liberty Mutual’s Mobile Claims app is available for the iPhone and Android. The Liberty Mutual Mobile app allows you to map your location through GPS, take pictures of damages for use in a claims report, collect contact information, share your insurance information, record voice notes, and access Liberty Mutual’s mobile site.

Multi-Policy/Multi-Line Discounts

Insuring both your car and home with Liberty Mutual may provide discounts to your insurance policy. Insuring more than one car with Liberty Mutual may result in car insurance discounts. Multi-policy quotes may be procured through your local Liberty Mutual insurance agent.

New Car Replacement

New Car Replacement is a standard feature of Liberty Mutual automobile insurance policies. Cars that are less than one year old, not previously owned, and with less than 15,000 miles are eligible for replacement if totaled within the first year of ownership. New car replacement is not available in North Carolina or Wyoming.

Other Lines of Insurance

In addition to auto insurance policies, Liberty Mutual provides the following:

  • Home insurance
  • Renters insurance
  • Condominium insurance
  • Personal liability insurance
  • Flood insurance
  • Identity fraud expense coverage
  • Life insurance

Rental Reimbursement

Rental coverage is optional with collision and comprehensive coverage. Rental coverage provides a rental car for the duration of repair at a Liberty-approved repair facility. Rental coverage applies to covered losses, and program availability varies by state.

Roadside Assistance

Roadside assistance is available through Liberty Mutual 24 hours a day. This ensures a jump to a dead battery, emergency fuel delivery, changing a flat tire, towing to a qualified repair facility, and unlocking vehicle doors. Benefits may vary by state.

Teenage Drivers

Liberty Mutual provides discounts for a B average or better through a Good Student Discount. Liberty Mutual also provides a Student-Away-At-School discount for teenage drivers at a school more than 100 miles away from their home. Teenage drivers should research whether they will stay on a parent’s policy or get their own car insurance coverage; adding a teenage driver to a policy can increase premiums. The value of a teenager’s car is a large factor in the cost of insurance.

Vehicle Equipment Discounts

Vehicles with anti-lock brakes, factory-installed motorized safety belts, one or more air bags, anti-theft devices, alarms, and other safety devices may be eligible for discounts.
